In 2017, ResMed introduced a groundbreaking innovation: AirTouch technology, designed to enhance the comfort of mask cushions and offer an alternative to silicone.

The primary distinction between ResMed's AirFit™ and AirTouch masks lies in the cushion material. The AirFit™ model utilizes a medical-grade silicone cushion, known for its durability and flexibility. It provides a dependable seal while preventing unpleasant facial markings. The robustness of medical-grade silicone allows for the cushion's replacement only every six months, representing significant long-term savings.

On the other hand, the AirTouch model features a memory foam cushion, which gently conforms to the face's contours, providing a perfect seal without excessive tightness. However, due to the delicate nature of memory foam, the cushion needs replacement every three months to maintain optimal performance.

Currently, AirTouch technology is available for the ResMed F20 and N20 masks.

The FitPack Solution

ResMed offers the FitPack, an option that includes various mask sizes in one package, highly convenient for sleep apnea patients. This pack provides a range of sizes, making it easier to choose the most fitting one for each user's facial structure.

This solution is especially beneficial for those uncertain about their required size. Instead of purchasing a single size and risking a poor fit, the FitPack allows users to try different options to identify the most comfortable one, thereby ensuring optimal comfort.

HumidX™ Technology

Users of the ResMed AirMini™ CPAP machine know it operates without a humidifier. To address this absence without increasing the device's size, ResMed developed HumidX™, an innovative micro-technology that attaches to the mask and mimics a humidifier's effects.

The air delivered by a CPAP without a humidifier can be dry and cause irritation. HumidX™ adds moisture to the air, making breathing more comfortable and preventing irritation. However, if you are in an already humid environment or do not feel discomfort using the CPAP without HumidX™, it's not mandatory. But if you do experience discomfort, adding HumidX™ can significantly enhance your user experience.

Presently, HumidX™ is compatible with the ResMed AirFit F20, AirFit N20, AirFit P10, and AirFit N30 masks.
